Biography
Ariellah Aflalo grew up in California and trained extensively in classical ballet before entering the belly-dance world. Her Moroccan family heritage encouraged an interest in North African and Middle Eastern movement traditions. After studying with several teachers she became a founding member of Rachel Brice's influential Indigo company in 2003. Ariellah subsequently developed a highly recognisable dark fusion aesthetic combining strong technique, theatrical mood and carefully constructed visual design. Her performances and teaching helped establish dark fusion as a distinct branch within the wider international Tribal Fusion movement.
