Suzi Khairy

Suzi Khairy belonged to the post-Golden-Era generation of Egyptian dancers who worked across cinema and live entertainment. Born in Alexandria, she became known as both a dancer and actress. Her career reflects the changing visual style of Raqs Sharqi during the 1960s and 1970s, when television and changing nightlife culture increasingly competed with cinema. She eventually stepped away from the entertainment industry. Her surviving appearances contribute to a fuller picture of Egyptian dance history beyond the small group of internationally famous icons.
